Bio and History

I started doodling when I was very young, and studied illustration at the University of the Arts, Philadelphia PA.
My favorite mediums are acrylic and ink on wood panel.
I enjoy acrylic medium because of its fast drying time, which allows me to quickly glaze multiple layers of color, giving my art the illusion of texture.
I use many different tools for creating these portraits, by using a brush, a sponge or pen, or even a tooth brush. Sometimes I use a sharp blade to scrap lines representing fur.

Some of my natural subjects are quite beautiful, adorned with exquisite colors, while others can be deadly and mysterious.
I prefer painting creatures that are often overlooked, yet unique with exotic camouflage.

My recent series of paintings “Ocean Colors”, includes marine life decorated with interesting patterns,
vibrant complimentary colors, and soft atmospheric backgrounds.

My goal is to inspire those who see my work to look more carefully at the natural world around them,
and the discover intricate beauty in our oceans and landscapes.

When people stop to look at my art, I like to think this has an impact on how we perceive mother nature, and to promote stewardship of our lands and oceans.
